Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 June 2026  ·  Last updated: 24 June 2026

We make in small numbers, to order. These terms explain how that works — and what you can expect from us.

These Terms of Service govern your use of groveandgable.co.za and any pre-order you place with us. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. They are intended to be fair and clear, and to comply with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA).

01Who we are

  • Trading name: Grove & Gable
  • Registered name & registration number: GROVE AND GABLE (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026/077336/07
  • Place of business: 12 Berg and Dal Close, Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Website: groveandgable.co.za

02How pre-order works

Grove & Gable produces clothing in limited, made-to-order runs. We do not hold stock. Each season is open for pre-order for a defined window. When the window closes, we produce the pieces that have been ordered, and the season is not repeated or restocked.

This means that when you pre-order, you are reserving a piece that will be made for you after the window closes. Production and delivery therefore take longer than an off-the-shelf purchase — please see section 06 for timeframes.

03Pricing

All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and are the prices payable at the time you place your order. Grove & Gable is not a registered VAT vendor, so prices do not include VAT. Delivery costs, if any, are shown before you complete your order. We take care to ensure prices are correct, but if an error is discovered we will let you know before processing your order and you may choose to continue or cancel.

04Your order and our agreement

When you submit a pre-order and payment, you are making an offer to purchase. Our agreement with you is concluded once we confirm your order by email. We may decline or cancel an order — for example, if a piece cannot be produced, if there has been a pricing error, or if we are unable to take payment. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full.

05Payment

Payment is taken securely at the time of pre-order through our payment provider, Paystack. By placing an order you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided. We do not store your full card details. Your order moves into production only once payment has been received.

06Production and delivery

Because each piece is made to order after the pre-order window closes, please allow approximately 4–6 weeks from the close of the window for your order to be made and delivered. We will keep you informed and will let you know if anything affects this timeframe.

We deliver within South Africa only. Delivery is made to the address you provide, so please make sure it is correct and complete. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

07Returns, exchanges and cancellations

We want you to be happy with your piece. Your rights here depend on the situation:

Cancelling before production

Because pieces are made to order, you may cancel your pre-order for a full refund at any time before production begins — that is, up until the pre-order window closes. Email us at [email protected] to cancel.

Change of mind after production

Once the window has closed and your piece is in production or made, we are generally unable to accept a return for change of mind, because the piece has been made specifically as part of a limited run to meet pre-orders.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

None of the above affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. If a piece is faulty, damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to return it for a repair, replacement or refund. Please contact us within a reasonable time of delivery and we will put it right at no cost to you.

08If a piece cannot be made

On rare occasions, a piece may not be able to go into production. If that happens, we will notify you as soon as possible and refund your pre-order in full. This is the limit of our responsibility in such a case.

09Intellectual property

All content on this site — including the Grove & Gable name, logo, designs, photography, text and layout — belongs to Grove & Gable or is used with permission, and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

10Our responsibility to you

We take care to describe and photograph our pieces accurately, though slight natural variation in colour and finish is part of how made-to-order clothing is produced. To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or our products.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The current version is always available on this page.

13Contact us

For any question about these terms or your order, please write to us at [email protected]. We read everything, and we will always try to find a fair answer.
