We collect only what we need to make your piece, send it to you, and stay in touch — and we look after it with care.

This policy explains how Grove & Gable (GROVE AND GABLE (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026/077336/07) ("Grove & Gable", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit groveandgable.co.za, place a pre-order, or sign up to hear from us. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

01The information we collect

We collect personal information that you give us directly, and a small amount that is collected automatically when you use the site.

Information you give us

• Your name, email address and phone number.
• Your delivery address and the details of your order (the piece, size and colour you choose).
• Payment information, which is collected and processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store your full card details ourselves.
• Any message you send us, and your preferences if you sign up to our newsletter.

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical information such as your device type, browser and IP address.
• How you use the site, gathered through cookies and similar technologies (see section 07).

02Why we use it, and on what basis

We process your personal information only where the law allows. We use it to:

• Take, confirm and fulfil your pre-order, and arrange production and delivery — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• Process your payment and guard against fraud — necessary for the contract and our legitimate interests.
• Keep you updated about your order, and respond to your enquiries.
• Send you marketing about new seasons and pieces — only where you have consented, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.
• Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• Understand and improve how the site performs.

03Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted service providers we rely on to run the business, and only as far as they need it:

• Payment processing — Paystack, to take your payment securely.
• Delivery — the courier or postal service that brings your order to you.
• Website and forms — the platform that hosts our storefront and order forms.
• Email and marketing — the tools we use to send order updates and, with your consent, our newsletter.
• Advertising and analytics — providers such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which help us measure and reach the right audiences. See section 07.

Some of these providers may process your information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected by laws or agreements that offer a comparable level of protection, as required by POPIA.

04Marketing and your choices

We will only send you marketing communications by email if you have given us your consent — for example, by signing up to our newsletter. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by clicking that link or emailing us at [email protected]. You may also object to the processing of your personal information for direct marketing at any point.

05How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, or for as long as the law requires us to (for example, tax records). When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.

06How we protect it

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your personal information secure and to prevent loss, damage or unauthorised access. Payment details are handled over secure, encrypted connections by our payment provider. While no online service can be completely secure, we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Information Regulator if a breach affecting your information occurs, as required by POPIA.

07Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the site is used. We also use the Meta Pixel, which allows us to measure the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show relevant pieces to people who have visited the site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences within your Facebook and Instagram account settings.

08Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Be told what personal information of yours we hold, and request access to it.
• Ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Ask us to delete or destroy information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
• Object to us processing your information, including for direct marketing.
• Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

09Children

Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe we hold information about a child, please contact us and we will remove it.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the date at the top. Please check back occasionally so you are aware of any changes.
